15 of Scrappy-Doo's most puppy-powerful disguises
Each costume adds a little extra puppy power!
We all need a little puppy power from time to time, and nobody delivered more than Scrappy-Doo.
One of the fun tropes of Scrappy's character is that he was always being put into disguises and costumes. Sometimes it was to go undercover or help the gang solve a mystery, but let's be real, most of Scrappy's costumes were just for fun.
Here are some of Scrappy's most iconic costumes.
Cactus
In "Yabba's Rustle Hustle", Scrappy goes undercover as a cactus to help Yabba and Dusty catch some cow rustlers.
Army Recruit
Scooby, Shaggy, and Scrappy take a shortcut through an army base and the trio are mistaken for new recruits.
The Tin Man
"Scooby's Trip to Ahz" was obviously inspired by The Wizard of Oz. Scooby hits his head and dreams that a tornado transports the Mystery Machine to Ahz. Scrappy plays the pivotal role of the Tin Man, with Scooby as the Cowardly Lion and Shaggy as the Scarecrow.
Lobster
What would YOU do if you had to capture an escape artist hiding out in a hotel? Pretend to be delicious room service, of course! So, Scrappy disguised himself as a succulent lobster to capture Slippery Dan.
Square Dancing Caller
"Ghosts of the Ancient Astronauts" is a special extended episode of The New Scooby-Doo Mysteries. In this episode, the gang are trapped in a room of snakes but luckily, Scrappy dresses up like a caller for a square dance. Combining the powers of a hoedown and snake charming, Scrappy plays the fiddle and calls out dance moves that eventually makes the snakes leave the room.
Bunny
In "Halloween Hassle at Dracula's Castle," Mystery Inc. attends a Halloween party, so Scrappy dresses up as a bunny.
Caterer
Specifically, Creepy Caterers! Daphne, Shaggy, Scooby, and Scrappy disguise themselves as caterers for the birthday party of reclusive Hollywood actress, Norma Deathwood (who is actually a vampire!).
Waiter
In "Sherlock Doo," Scrappy and the boys dress up as waiters. They go undercover at The Great Detectives Club, which is a silent club and is why Scrappy is trying to stop Scooby from sneezing.
Paul Revere
"Sweet Dreams Scooby" is a three costume special! Scooby, Shaggy, and Scrappy are locked in a museum overnight and they each have weird, historical dreams. Shaggy dreams about colonial times and in his dream, Scrappy is Paul Revere.
Blue Max Scrappy
In the same episode, Scrappy dreams that he is Blue Max Scrappy and prepares to fight the Red Baron.
Caveman
The last dream scenario of the episode, Scooby dreams that the trio are cavemen (cavedogs?) on the run from dinosaurs.
Chimney Sweep
The last episode of The New Scooby-Doo Mysteries is also a three costume special. In "The Nutcracker Scoob" the gang puts on a Christmas pageant for the children's home while solving a mystery. Shaggy and Scrappy disguise themselves as chimney sweeps to investigate the home of their main suspect.
Christmas Elf
The second costume of the episode, Scrappy dresses as an elf for the Christmas pageant.
The Sugarplum Princess
We saved the best for last! In the gang's performance of "The Nutcracker," Scrappy is forced to be a Sugarplum Princess. Shaggy and Scooby are eventually roped into being fairies too, but Scrappy pulls off the main character energy needed to play this important role.
