Before he was Robert Barone, Brad Garrett was one of the 2 Stupid Dogs
Everybody loves Big Dog!

Before the success of Everybody Loves Raymond, Brad Garrett was a stand-up comedian trying to make it in Hollywood, and at first, he found his way in as a cartoon voice actor. His first role in animation was in 1985's Hulk Hogan's Rock 'n' Wrestling, where he voiced Hulk Hogan. From there, he landed roles in cartoons like Transformers, The Real Ghostbusters, and Jetsons: The Movie. For years, Garrett balanced voice acting, stand-up, and performing live roles whenever he could land them.
One of his pivotal voice acting roles before Everybody Loves Raymond was Big Dog in 2 Stupid Dogs. When asked about the role in an interview with Screen Rant, Garrett said, "(Big Dog's voice) was a little bit of Dim in A Bug's Life...We love 2 Stupid Dogs." Garrett used Big Dog's voice as the inspiration, or launching point, for playing the big, sensitive beetle Dim, but between 2 Stupid Dogs and A Bug's Life, he landed the role of a lifetime: Robert Barone.
During Raymond and up to today, Garrett continued his work in cartoons, recently appearing in Disney movies like Tangled, Ratatouille, and Finding Dory.
