One Warner Bros. animator said that ''nobody could control Mel Blanc''

No matter how much fun you could possibly have in your life, it might pain you to admit that you will never have as much fun as Mel Blanc.

Better known as The Man of a Thousand Voices, we'll be the first to say that if anyone deserves to have a good time, it's Mel Blanc. Blanc was responsible for countless number of various favorite cartoon voices, including Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, and Yosemite Sam.

But Blanc didn't just work hard; he also played hard. The voice actor loved his work, and he had a wonderful time doing it; just ask his coworkers.

"Mel Blanc had more fun than any of us," said Friz Freleng, a Warner Brothers animator, during an interview with the Record-Journal. "Nobody could control Mel Blanc back then. Even Mel Blanc couldn't control Mel Blanc."

Of course, originally, Warner Brothers kept their Looney Tunes characters few and far between. But with hard work, they were able to increase their popularity by adding new characters. Not only did this keep their content fresh, but it also endeared viewers to the characters.

"By increasing the number of characters, we broadened our appeal," said Freleng. "There was something for everybody."

Of course, this universal appeal is precisely what has made the Looney Tunes so popular, even today.

"Warner Brothers cartoons are timeless," said film critic Leonard Maltin. "You don't need to apologize for their age. They're just as good now as they were when they were first made."
