Peter Potamus (a purple hippopotamus), and his traveling companion So-So (a monkey), fly back and forth through time in a balloon participating in historic events. Whenever they get into serious enough trouble, as they do in every episode, Peter defeats his enemies with his trademark "Hippo Hurricane Hollar." Other cartoon shorts include, "Breezly and Sneely," and "Yippee, Yappee, and Yahooey."

While looking for Fargo, North Dakota, Peter mysteriously finds himself being "thrown to the lions" during a special Coliseum show in ancient Rome. / When Colonel Fuzzby gets Sergeant Biter of the Canine Corps to chase Breezly out of Camp Frostbite, our hero manages to foil his four-legged foe with a team of trained fleas. / To boost the King's popularity, the guards dress as a dragon for the King to "slay.

The Island Fling/Furry Furlough/Job Robbed

Peter unwillingly gets "drafted" as a candidate for idol of a jungle tribe and finds running for office nothing like our own national elections. / Colonel Fuzzby gets a furlough from Camp Deepfreeze only to discover that his South Seas retreat is the favorite vacation spot of Breezly Bruin. / Annoyed by the Goofy Guards' ineptness, the King purchases a robot to protect him.
