Ice cold cartoons to cool you off when it's too hot
If you can't beat the heat, watch Tom & Jerry and Looney Tunes!
It's too dang hot out! And while it might be hot and sticky outside, inside has air conditioning and ice-cold cartoons. We have compiled a list of the iciest, chilliest cartoons from Tom & Jerry and Looney Tunes - maybe watching these cartoons will subconsciously help you cool down, or at least entertain you while the heat wave rages on.
The Penguin Parade (1938)
Penguins from all over the Arctic attend the grand opening of The Club Iceberg - oh, how we wish we could go there right now.
Polar Pals (1939)
Porky lives in an igloo in Antarctica and protects his penguin, seal, and polar bear friends from a poacher. This cartoon has a perfect amount of ice and snow to help you forget about how you can fry an egg on the sidewalk right now.
Kitty Kornered (1946)
On this cold winter night (which sounds ideal right now!), all the cat owners throw their cats outside, including Porky Pig, whose cats conspire against him to get back into the house.
Frigid Hare (1949)
Once again, Bugs should have taken a left at Albuquerque, and instead of arriving in Miami Beach, he finds himself stuck in the frozen abyss of the South Pole with Playboy Penguin. You know, Playboy Penguin is so cool he cries ice cubes.
Putty Tat Trouble (1951)
Sylvester and another cat compete to eat Tweety, who just wants to shovel the snow out of his nest. There is a moment in this cartoon where Tweety cuts a hole in the ice, and Sylvester falls into the icy cold water, and that sounds so nice right about now.
Duck! Rabbit, Duck! (1953)
This cartoon is often remembered as a member of Chuck Jones' hunting trilogy, full of dastardly tricks pulled by Daffy and wise comebacks from Bugs, but today we enjoy it for its snow content.
Mice Follies (1954)
Jerry and Nibbles flood the kitchen and freeze it, transforming the room into a winter wonderland ice rink. Eventually, the mice also freeze Tom.
The Abominable Snow Rabbit (1961)
Bugs and Daffy make a wrong turn at Albuquerque and accidentally end up in the frozen Himalayan Mountains. It's only like 70 degrees in the Himalayas right now, by the way.
Snowbody Loves Me (1964)
Once again, Tom and Jerry take us on a nice, cold adventure to the Alps, this time to a cheese shop!
The A-Tom-Inable Snowman (1966)
Tom and Jerry ski, skate, and chase each other through the Alps. Jerry is aided by a friendly St. Bernard.
